In our business, the products we use are critical to the success of any project. We only recommend products that are superior in terms of quality, ease of use, integration and durability. And yet we believe that no two products are the same. Even when specifications are similar, there are subtle differences that are discerned with an experienced eye or ear. We always recommend products that will be suitable and will match a client’s requirements, personality and environment.
Home Theater Receiver
A receiver is the core of the home theater system -it is not only responsible for the immersive theater-like experience with surround sound, but it is also a connection hub for a variety of audio and video sources. Receivers combine three components– a preamplifier, a tuner, and an amplifier. The general thumb rule is that larger rooms require larger speakers for impact, which in turn call for more powerful receivers. It is also important to match the power requirements of the surround sound speakers. If the receiver under-powers the speakers, it will result in distorted sound and damage to the speakers over time. |

Speakers
The thing that separates fantastic home theaters from others is, surround sound speakers. Most surround sound speaker sets have at least six speakers, including a subwoofer. You can either purchase a pre-matched surround sound system, or purchase them individually, a la carte. What speakers do you need? Typically, you will need the following. 1) A center channel speaker that is located either directly above or below your TV or screen. 2) Front speakers on the right and left. These can be purchased either in a bookshelf type or simple floor-standing speakers. 3) Two or three surround speakers that are located behind or beside the seating area. 4) One or two subwoofers You can also look at in-wall, in-ceiling, or custom flat-panel speakers for a cleaner installation and to maximize space. |

Projectors
Images are powerful. A theater experience is nothing without crisp, sharp and clear visuals. For images with near cinematic perfection in your home or office, you need the right projector. Some of the factors that affect image quality in home theaters are as follows. a) Screen – projecting on a wall is OK, but that’s about it, it is only OK. For best results, you should use a projector screen. These come in a variety of sizes and types (wall-mounted or retractable). b) Room lighting – the darker the room, the better. But this is something you can control, say by using blackout shades on your windows. c) Viewing habits – projector lamps have a lamp life of about 2000-5000 hours, called its ‘half-life’, which is typically 4-5 years of use. After this, image brightness will be diminished by about half. While the lamp will continue to work well beyond its half-life, image quality will slowly deteriorate. Replacing the lamp, will solve the issue. |
